Brett Mozden, PE Project Manager Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. The family business was concrete construction. He started working with his Dad and Uncle in high school as a laborer and worked tirelessly during the summers and winter breaks learning the concrete business. It was during high school that he became interested in the design part of construction after taking a technical drafting class. After being accepted into the school of architecture at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1998 he graduated with honors in 2002. During statics courses in his undergraduate classwork he became more interested in the structural design aspect of buildings and chose to enter graduate school in the structures option of the graduate architecture program. During his graduate coursework he was also a teaching assistant for the undergraduate steel design classes. Upon completion of his graduate degree in 2004 he followed his future wife out to Seattle to pursue a job in structural engineering with Swenson Say Fagét. Since that time he has worked on a variety of projects with a variety of materials. He enjoys spending time with his wife and dog in his spare time, going camping, fishing and the low and slow art of barbecue. His favorite teams are the Chicago Cubs, Bears, Blackhawks and all University of Illinois teams.
